Aubrey Craig is a member of the English Bar practising from St Philip’s Chambers in Birmingham. He is also admitted to the New York State and US Federal Bars (1983) and spent ten years in practice in the USA (1977-87). His principal specialisation is Intellectual Property and he is a member of the Intellectual Property Bar Association and of the European Circuit.
Aubrey’s practice covers all aspects of UK, European and US IP Law including Copyright, Database Right, Patents, Design Right, Trademarks, Passing Off and Confidential Information. The Patent practice is limited to mechanical, electrical and software inventions. He has lectured to regional branches of both ITMA (Trademarks) and CIPA (Patents).
Aubrey also acts and advises in relation to:
the law of Information and Privacy
Competition Law (UK and US), in particular the interrelation of Competition law and intellectual property law. He has lectured on the latter topic to the Institute of Trademark Attorneys among others and has been instructed on behalf of respondents in proceedings by the OFT in relation to the enforcement of competition laws.
His practice extends to both contentious and non-contentious work, the latter including the drafting of IP licences both for the UK/Europe and covering North America.
