Kate joined chambers as a tenant in 2011 following successful completion of her pupillage. She studied for her LLB at Cardiff University where she also undertook the BVC, obtaining the grade of Outstanding with the highest number of assessments graded as Outstanding in her year group. She also received the Oxford University Press Prize for the highest mark in Civil Procedure.
Kate’s practice has quickly developed throughout her time in chambers and she now undertakes a broad spectrum of commercial work, with particular experience in Insolvency and Company matters, Banking, Property, and general contractual disputes. Kate has also developed a Regulatory practice alongside her commercial work and she is often instructed to both advise and conduct trials in all aspects of regulatory law. Kate has been instructed in matters in the High Court and Court of Appeal this year through this strand of her practice.
Kate has been described as a tenacious advocate and she combines this with strong commercial acumen. She takes a practical approach when dealing with clients’ cases and is often asked to advise of the most commercially viable and practical solution for the client.
Kate enjoys watching and playing sport, in particular boxing, she will also be running the London marathon next year.
