Colin is the Senior Clerk of St Philips Leeds with responsibility for the day to day clerking and administration there. He brings vast knowledge and experience to the role having been a Senior Clerk in Leeds for over 30 years. Over the last 20 years Colin has been extremely active in promoting local and specialist Chancery/Commercial barristers on Circuit, building and developing a successful chambers of highly regarded specialists in those areas.
Colin knows the legal market place extremely well and has an impeccable reputation for friendliness, honesty and clarity, having been praised in legal publications for his ability to match the right barrister to the right case. Prior to his clerking career Colin spent 17 years in the Lord Chancellor’s Department(LCD), working in the County Court, High Court, Crown Court and within the audit and administration teams. At the time he left the LCD, Colin was undertaking a Senior Management role but nevertheless elected to take on a new challenge by moving into clerking following an approach made to him.
Away from Chambers Colin and his wife Sue, enjoy travel, cooking and gardening, whilst on his own Colin “tries” to enjoy Golf, a sport he has participated in for many years with varying degrees of success!
